A-SESSION LOCATIONS- Foothills

I got a call from Starla a while back, to come photograph her family. She was brave enough to host 2o people for Thanksgiving and wanted me to come and grab a family shot while they were all together. I was surprised at how ‘with it’ they all seemed to be  (even with all of those little boys running around) and we were able to grab everything on the list of must have shots, and even had some time for some extras! I was so glad that I was able to capture Starla and her husband with their two dogs…

I’ve been working with the Anderson family for a good seven or eight years now- Jessica would remember:) . It was a challenge to figure out a location that they haven’t been to yet. We decided to trek down to Folsom, and shoot along the river for the evening. As I sit here at a friends home in Camino, using their power and internet connection, it is hard to believe that just last week was lovely fall weather. Kristina and her mother met me at Boeger for Kristina’s senior photograph shoot. Looking back, it was one of the last days of fall. I’m glad we got out when we did! It seems like I’ve been working at Boeger a lot these days, but I can’t think of a better place to have shot the Poole family. The light was beautiful, the family was full of fun, and there was lots of space for the little ones to run around and have fun. Michelle and Tim are a great couple. As a photographer, it is a great feeling you get when you see someone’s natural connection and ease with each other…AND you get to photograph them! This is them; easy going and open both to each other and to the “good time” wherever it may be. They are the kind who will find it, if it doesn’t find them first. If you’ve had the chance to work with me in the past two years then you probably remember my former assistant, Cassie. Meet Miranda, Cassie’s younger sister. I took Cassie’s senior portraits a few years back, and then their brother Zac’s a year or so before that and now it was Miranda’s turn.  We met at Boeger Winery right before the sun started to go down. It was a beautiful day at Boeger Winery when we met up with Andrew for his senior session. Andrew is a guitar player, and brought his guitar along for the shoot.  Not only did it serve as a great prop throughout the shoot, but it made for a fantastic atmosphere to work in – the rolling hills of the vineyard, beautiful evening light, and gentle music played by Andrew himself – not a bad way to enjoy sunset, I’d say! My “past life” included about 15 years as both a live and recording studio engineer and I have great affection…

Gavin and Fayth. They’ve been friends for 11 years and are both graduating from El Dorado High this coming May. Their senior “split” session for friends?
