Coloma

  • A few years back I had the pleasure of photographing Alec’s sister, Ally. This time around it was for Alec, the youngest of Avis and Andy.  As my friends and clientele know, I’m a music lover. When Alec wanted to include his drum kit and drumming in his senior photographs, I was “jazzed”. And then, I was only a little surprised, “Wait, we’re headed down to the river with his kit?” Yes, we were with the help of his roadie parents. However, as Quincy Jones said, “There are two things you can’t live without. Water and music” and it appears…

  • I met up with Walden, his cool sunglasses, and his parents’ (Cathy and Brad) in Coloma last week. He came referred to me from The Celio/McCallick family and it doesn’t surprise me that Tracy knew we’d work well together.  It was a session to celebrate Walden’s big accomplishment surrounded in the natural beauty of the great outdoors. The river was pretty high so we quickly shifted from Henningsen Park in Lotus to over by Mt. Murphy and the road bridge of the same name. Walden was easygoing, super positive and fun to work with. He has skied for the EDHS…

  • Let’s be honest, most guys have no idea what to expect when their parent signs them up for a senior photography session. Most of the time I just confide with them that we are doing this for their parents– and it seems to take the pressure off. Now we are on the same team working to get some shots that mom will love and hopefully we did! We worked the area around Henningsen park and the beach/river area while warming up to each other and the process. Kian is super sweet and a little shy and like most male seniors,…

  • It’s always an honor when a family asks me to photograph them and even more so when it’s semi-annually over the last two decades. Love the Littles!  Capturing families year after year is the most rewarding part of my job.  So, of course, I had to dig a little to find some photographs of Jack when he was younger. Look at that cute face! I’m sure I have some, somewhere when he was even younger. My husband and I moved to Pollock Pines when Jack was a toddler and it’s been fun watching him grow up the last two decades.…

  • We met Carlo down by the river in Coloma near where he lives to take some photographs to commemorate his senior year. As a student, making it through 20-21 is something to be proud of. As an adult it is hard but honestly, I was able to focus my energies on “around the home” activities- cleaning, tossing, cooking etc. As a high school senior it would have driven me nuts. At a time when you are finding yourself and trying to engage with folks, Covid made it all the more awkward. For the Class of 2021, the promise of an…

  • Henningsen Lotus Park is a favorite location to photograph at and especially in the fall. When Laura contacted me to capture some images of her family, earlier this fall, in their family home before they moved- we had to reschedule at least 4 times or more due to all the smoke in the air. Their home had a beautiful sunset view that was completely covered in all the September/October California smoke from all the fires.  Well, while staying local, they did move to a new home so we came up with a plan B. Not bad. I’m going to give…

  • One of my most favorite things to do is reconnect with my wedding couples in order to capture their growing families. After Katrina and Joe’s wedding(maybe 6 years ago?), I actually had the honor to be at little Casey’s birth. Well, with the Sac traffic, about 2 minutes after it, to be exact. But just the same, the images from that day and those that I captured during her first year were put together in a bound hard book documenting those precious moments. I got to deliver it to them at our photo shoot and had fun watching Casey look…
