Congratulations to El Dorado High school  senior, Jakob, who I photographed at Larsen’s Apple Barn in Camino recently. Senior year. The big finale. Jakob is crazy about soccer (as you can see from his images) and he plays for Ethos Academy, which is an affiliate team for the San Jose Earthquakes.  You could see him really come alive as he practiced with the soccer ball. I was glad when Jeanette Di Muccio contacted me during the holidays with the idea for all the kids to gift Dee (her mother in law) a family session for Christmas. Katrina and Joe were married recently at the beautiful Apple Mountain Golf Resort  in Camino, CA and on one of the hottest days of the year so far; when the temperatures hit 106 in the foothills, you know you’re in the middle of a heat-wave! Karen and Erin got married at High Sierra Iris and Wedding Gardens in mid August. I hadn’t shot at that location in awhile and there were some beautiful upgrades to the property including uplighting on the trees behind the dance floor and a cool little cabana for the bar. Surrounded by family and friends Karen and Erin exchanged their vows and started the celebration of their married lives together. September 6, 2011 When you attend a memorial for a “child”, as a parent, I know, you know, we all know, this could be you. How can this thought not run through your head? Usually by the time an engagement session happens the wedding planning is well under way, and more often than not the couple has been engaged for several months. This was not the case with Nicole and Jeff. Nicole wanted some photographs of the two of them as a newly engaged couple, and I was more than happy to hang out with them for the afternoon. They’ve been together 6 years and just recently became engaged. Tank, their bulldog, came along for part of the session. He did a great job sitting in front of the camera, and became fast friends…

One of my favorite images is of a high school senior playing a drum(djembe) out in a field at sunset, long hair-a-flying! This was Megan’s brother Travis a few years back. Fast forward to Megan- what a beauty! Megan will graduate soon from El Dorado High, and very much looking forward to heading off to UC Santa Cruz in the fall. I’m a bit jealous of the fact that she is going to be spending a month after she graduates just traveling around Europe as I love to see (and photograph) new things…just call me if you need your own…
