A-SESSION LOCATIONS- Foothills

  • Aalijah graduates this spring from Pacific Crest Academy with the Class of 2025. I enjoyed getting to know him and his mom, Sarahkay as we moved through the fall wonderland I have access to up in Camino. It’s a spectacular and private location- you’ll love it too. It took me a bit to gain Aalijah’s trust and dig into some expressions that weren’t planned. He’s got a great smile but you had to find the real ones through his politeness. I enjoy that. Aalijah came to me through a local referral, the Coggiolas. He plans to study biology and business…

  • Beautiful Sofia. We had originally met at 24 Carrot Farm for their gorgeous flower backdrop but we got started a little late. Just as the last little bit of sun was tucking away over the hillside and Sofia drove in, we decided to split her session so we did half of it up at Sly Park Lake where the light lingers a little longer and then came back to 24 Carrot the next day, a little earlier for the flowers and some warm sunshine. It worked out great and I was happy to accommodate Sofia as her family have been…

  • A few years back I had the pleasure of photographing Alec’s sister, Ally. This time around it was for Alec, the youngest of Avis and Andy.  As my friends and clientele know, I’m a music lover. When Alec wanted to include his drum kit and drumming in his senior photographs, I was “jazzed”. And then, I was only a little surprised, “Wait, we’re headed down to the river with his kit?” Yes, we were with the help of his roadie parents. However, as Quincy Jones said, “There are two things you can’t live without. Water and music” and it appears…

  • I feel old. Isn’t Paizlee still three years old? Well, she is not. She’s still beautiful and kind- just the adult version. In fact she graduates from ELDO this May after completing her senior year with online classes from ELDO. I love that this is offered for some students as everyone learns differently and sometimes the drama of a big high school isn’t the right thing. Finishing school this way has enabled Paizlee to have a job at Gut Racing where they make dirt bike seat covers. Over two decades ago(that’s 20+ years if you’re counting) I first met the…

  • After just receiving her Cal Poly acceptance into their Biology program, I met up with Amelia and her mom Amy at the High Sierra Iris Garden in Camino. While not in the height of full bloom that those will enjoy this week, the splashes of color were gorgeous and created a vibrant backdrop. Nancy, the owner and gardener extraordinaire creates such a colorful and magnificent space in which to enjoy the afternoon and the many varieties of Iris. Head out there this May and see for yourself. You will be amazed. Clearly Amelia is an excellent student, but outside of…

  • Multipotentialite– new word for me. Someone who has many interests and creative pursuits, and the ability to excel in two or more different fields. Multipotentialites are often very curious, and can find creative ways to combine different ideas. They can also learn, explore, and master new skills, and have the potential to innovate and solve problems. I think this describes Nate to a T! During Nate’s senior session, I realized both in conversation with him and in actual doing…he loves using his hands and also building things. He is currently building a lighthouse for his school prom. He’s also built…

  • Curious little one-year-old Jaxon, with the cute, energetic smile spent some time with me in one of my favorite locations cruising around like a pro in the forest with mom and dad, Frances and Bobby who just moved to the area from Carmicheal. Jaxon even learned the word “tree” (‘twee”) as he held a branch from a local species backlit in the sun. Also joining in on the fun was Great Grandma Alice who had been staying with them for several months but would be moving across the country soon.  It was the perfect time to capture some memories. Welcome…

  • With a wedding right around the corner this April, I hopped out with Josh and Melissa in a snowstorm to get to know the two of them better while learning more about how they connect and capturing them doing just that. Josh, the jokester, was playful but such a gentleman when it came to his bride-to-be, guiding, keeping her warm, and keeping the energy fun. Melissa, found the guy that keeps her smiling and laughing. She is so kind, relaxed and lovely to be around. She shines a beautiful smile. As Willie Nelson sang from Irving Berlin’s lyrics, “Nothing but…
