Casey is one! And adorable and adored by her parents, Katrina and Joe, plus older siblings, Jordan and Shayla. The family purchased my baby package to document Casey’s first year, beginning with a maternity session, and this was their last session before I put together their one year memory album.
It seems almost impossible that it was a year ago that I arrived 5 minutes late to photograph Casey’s birth. One minute Katrina was 4cms dilated and then the next Casey was already with us. I couldn’t believe how quickly she zoomed into the world and that I had missed it by mere moments. Drats! But I then got to photograph Casey in her first days at home, and then again when she reached her 6 month milestone.
If you’re clicking through the links back to all these sessions, you’re probably feeling the same way as I do at this point in a baby package: how cool it is to see Casey and this family grow and forge these new connections together. Seriously, one of my favorite parts of my job.
Like their maternity session, we met by the river at Ancil Hoffman Park in Carmichael and enjoyed some shade. The light was hitting the trees on the other side of the river, creating a Fall-like glow. Even though the temperatures were in the 90s, we could at least pretend!
Love this family, who I first met when I photographed Katrina and Joe’s wedding on a sweltering day in 2013, and feel so privileged to share in their milestones.
