Bumgarner Winery- love those folks!

by Lisa Richmond

The other night on my way home from the Sugarloaf benefit, I had arranged to stop by one of my favorite wineries that I enjoy spending time at, in order to take some promotional photographs of a private event that they were having. Why is it one of my favorites? Well, a number of reasons- Jen and Brian are so down to earth and not only know how to make great wine, but almost as important, they know how to treat their clientele and understand how that completely ties in with having a successful business. In order to accommodate the “local flavor” and varying budgets for wine along with their natural tendencies toward operating a “green” business, they created a refillable bottle for their “Silver Fork” variety. Folks are able to reuse their bottles which removes that expense out of the cost of their purchase, while eliminating the need to produce more bottles and then recycle more. Reduce, reuse, recycle…wasn’t that what Jack Johnson said in the soundtrack for Curious George? Well these guys live it. Smart, Smart smart.

Ok- the other reason I love Bumgarner (other than getting to provide many of the images for their current website) is that they have the most beautiful tasting room and grounds. I often joke with them about wanting the phone number of their landlord so that I can turn it into a photography studio. It just feels right there on so many levels.

I wanted Jen and Brian to have some photographs of this event so that if they considered doing more of them, they would have images to help with marketing! I support them and what they are doing and how they are doing it. So, if you are looking for a place to have a most spectacular evening, visit Bumgarner and pull up a glass of wine and a comfy chair. If you are looking for a venue for a party, (perhaps) wedding for around 80 folks- seriously check this place out- you’re going to love it too!
