Brielle & Trevor ~ June 19, 2010

by Lisa Richmond

Trevor & Brielle were married at “The House on the Hill”, the home of Brielle’s parents, Irene and Alan in Greenstone. They have all been working very hard since January to get ready for the wedding not to mention a complete home landscaping, patio building and gazebo raising (what doesn’t kill you, makes you stronger…right?) June 19 was a warm and breezy day. We all knew how lucky we were that the temperature was around 80, when it could have so easily been 100+ degrees. My assistant Cassie and my friend Jaime from Rose Street Studio were helping me out with whatever the day brought! Brielle looked so beautiful with all her purple accents in her hair & make up. Trevor- easy going and handsome – ready for the days events!

They decided on having a “first look” which is where the bride and groom see each other in advance of the ceremony. This gives them (really) the only “alone time” they will have all day and a great chance to connect in private and admire each other in their wedding attire, prior to all the festivities. We met at the reservoir in Greenstone for the first look as both mother of the bride(Irene) and mother of the groom (Colleen) peaked on from a distance. After, we went back to the home, and I photographed the signing of the Ketubah. According to the Jewish view of marriage, marriage is a contractual agreement between two people with legal rights and obligations. A Ketubah is a marriage contract that explains the basic material, conjugal and moral responsbilities of the husband to his wife. It is signed by the groom, as well as two witnesses, and given to the bride during the wedding ceremony. I was moved by this pre-ceremony and honored to be photographing it with all of the family standing around to witness this. After a tug of the scarf, signifying Brielle’s willingness to proceed, they were officially married by Jewish tradition. After a beautiful outdoor ceremony for all, the evening kicked into high gear with lots of dancing and celebrating. Everything was perfect- the food, the make up, the hair, the flowers, the music(both the jazz band and DJ), and those unforgettable, yummy,  lavender cupcakes! Sunday morning, Brielle and Trevor took off for Maui to relax and relax, and relax. Congratulations you guys! Many thanks to Jaime for some great second shooting!
