It has been a few years since I photographed the Gimpel family and was excited they were ready for another session. After giving them a few ideas of locations, they said that “upcountry” suited them–so off we went. Chasing light on the aspens and spending time on a nearby mountain top,  overlooking the setting sun in the southwestern sky is a great way to spend the afternoon in my book. Sierra will be joining this landscape in the beautiful Sierra Nevada mountains any day now…in fact I just heard that mama, Allyson is on bed rest in order to keep their little one cooking for just a while longer. Well, since Miss Lily arrived about 6 weeks earlier than planned our Lake Tahoe maternity session ended up being inside Marshall hospital on the maternity level, during the birth.
