Photographing a photographer; what a joy- two creative souls working toward a common end. And then the nerves of being watched. Hard to avoid those self judgements (“she must think I am crazy”). I think Ashlynn and I both had nerves (for about 2 minutes) but that instantly dissipated into a creative jam session out in the field, me behind the camera and her in front. We were on a roll, we couldn’t stop and it was SO much fun. I LIVE FOR THAT FLOW! I’m not sure anything feels better than being in “the flow”. Working with Ashlynn was great! She knew all the secret spots of Main Street Placerville from the Cary House to the Bookery, the alley between antique shops and all the way up to the pedestrian overpass. She uses these spots for her own photography and now she finally gets to be the subject. After graduation, Ashlynn will be spending time using her creative juices in a second floor art studio on Main Street. I can’t wait to visit the studio and see her work! Congratulations on your graduation Ashlynn and thanks for a great late afternoon in the light!
