“And we are starting a new life” was the title of the first photo session blog post that I did with the Skalos family. It’s also the lyric to a great Van Morrison song. At that time the Skalos family were new to Pollock Pines and wanted to document their family. Claire (bear) was a toddler and Ava was a big bump in Shannon’s belly (see the log of posts at the bottom of this one). That was in March of 2022. Over the next 2.5 years, I captured not only Ava’s first year but also their growing family. This last session was special because just a few days later, the Skalos family started their move eastward to Maryland for new work and to be closer to family. In fact, Shannon and Dan’s parents were out in California helping with the move- so everyone was included in this last photo session.
We finished at Sly Park Lake, where we started in March of 2022…and they’re starting a new life. I will miss my photo sessions with them and capturing those beautiful and curious girls. I wish you all love and laughter in your next adventure. Please stay in touch- and I will be watching your social media for pics of your kids and family as time takes over and we all get older.
