What a difference four years makes! It was a pleasure to reconnect with the McCann Family this fall at one of my favorite places, Sly Park Lake, and see how much this gorgeous family has grown. I always say one of the greatest rewards of my career is that I get to work with families many times over the years and in a sense, grow with them! In 2012 when I photographed the McCann Family at Boeger Winery, youngest daughter Ellie was just a baby and big sister Hailee a smiling tot. Today they are two beautiful little girls with an equally beautiful friendship. Watching them hurl snowballs at each other reminded me of all the fun my own daughters had together at that age (and still do!). Once a sister, always a sister!
I’ve got to hand it to Mom Reiko – she has a great eye for color and style. I loved how the family’s outfits were color-coordinated, but not too catchy-matchy, with lots of pattern and texture to give the images pop and visual interest. A woman after a photographer’s heart for sure! And luckily they packed some jackets for the end of session because once the sun sets at Sly Park, it can get c-o-l-d. Small price to pay for so many warm smiles and open hearts, though!
Thank you Reiko and Sean for inviting me to capture your lovely family. I already am looking forward to the next time I get to play at the lake with the four of you.
Warm Winter Wishes,
Lisa
