One of my most favorite things to do is reconnect with my wedding couples in order to capture their growing families. After Katrina and Joe’s wedding(maybe 6 years ago?), I actually had the honor to be at little Casey’s birth. Well, with the Sac traffic, about 2 minutes after it, to be exact. But just the same, the images from that day and those that I captured during her first year were put together in a bound hard book documenting those precious moments. Casey is one! And adorable and adored by her parents, Katrina and Joe, plus older siblings, Jordan and Shayla. The family purchased my baby package to document Casey’s first year, beginning with a maternity session, and this was their last session before I put together their one year memory album. It seems almost impossible that it was a year ago that I arrived 5 minutes late to photograph Casey’s birth. One minute Katrina was 4cms dilated and then the next Casey was already with us. I offer complimentary services for birth photography as a special gift to my wedding clients. Births are full of that raw emotion, just like weddings. Katrina was an adventurous bride, and now she’s an adventurous mama-to-be! Big smile, big heart, and big beautiful belly. She happily tromped around the riverside with me while I hunted for that scrumptious light. Katrina and Joe were married recently at the beautiful Apple Mountain Golf Resort  in Camino, CA and on one of the hottest days of the year so far; when the temperatures hit 106 in the foothills, you know you’re in the middle of a heat-wave! We began our day getting ready at the Cary Hotel on Main Street in Placerville, where it was fun (and cool… literally) to incorporate some indoor shots of downtown and the historic hotel.
